VAM in Tanzania
VAM provides a self-sustainability program for 3 villages in rural Tanzania; Lake Zone, Mwanza; East Coast, Kibaha; Southern Highland, Mbeya. The VAM Tanzania Director and Zone Coordinators concentrate on the development of small businesses.
Current businesses are poultry raising, rug weaving, bread baking, jewelry making and growing peanuts. These women are learning to run businesses that will help them to support themselves and their families therefore becoming economic leaders in their communities.
Future Plans
- To continue to offer vocational training for women
- To help increasing numbers of women establish businesses
- To build a well in each village.
- To build a centrally located school for the regions.
